Lot clearing soon?
Isa and I just drove by the lot, and lo and behold there were orange stakes showing the property lines. Nice to see where the edges of our yard will be. I need to buy some orange ties to put on the trees I want to keep. If not the will level everything in sight during the lot clearing.

New School Impact Fee
I read an article today about a new School Impact Fee to help pay for new schools in Brevard County. I have to contact Allen at Renar to figure out how this will affect us. Will we be exempt since we already signed our contract? Its almost $5000 for a single family home, quite a chunk of change. It goes into effect Sept 24. For that much money I may as well have had our porch added during construction. We'll see.......

Lot Surveyed
Had to sign for a $300 increase to the lot preparation today, that brings it to approx. $12300. But that means someone was out to survey and make sure the lot was buildable which is cool to know. They had to test to make sure that it wasnt a lot that retained a lot of water when it rained thus making it unbuildable. Another issue that some people have in the area is whether they own a scrubjay lot. These lots are protected from being built on because they are near or are part of the natural habitat of the Florida Scrubjay. Like it or not, its a shame when a certain lot cannot be sold (who would buy it?) just because some birds do/might live there. I read here that around 20 families of scrubjays live in our city limits, and there are hundreds of lots that must stay as they are to be homes for them. ANYHOW, ours is gravy and now we wait some more. There are a couple of Renar homes that are just being built elsewhere in Palm Bay that we have gone to look at to see for the fun of it since ours is still just a bunch of brush. Thats all I have for today...........
