Adding things to the contract

I requested to have architectural shingles put on the house instead of the standard three tab style shown in a previous entry back in July. The first link has lots of pictures of it being used on a house. It was a 750dollar option, but I've heard they last longer and are better in hurricanes. Plus they look nice. I also asked to add the fridge into the house price so we dont have to buy one when we move in, strangely this was a possible issue with changing the contract (and the shingles are different how?). Additionally I was talking to a co-worker who had his house built a year or so ago and had this advice. He said have the water purification added into the loan. Im thinking this should come with the house, after all no one mentioned this for the last 6 months. Sure enough it doesnt come with it. And its 1700dollars, thats gotta go in the loan. If you have a well system being used on your new build, figure this tiny detail out with your lender, have it added. I still dont know whether I am going to be able to add it or not, as I have not heard from my lender yet.
